Mawlānā Mahdi Alam

Mawlānā Mahdi Alam was born and raised in New York City. After memorizing the Quran at Darul Uloom NY, he completed the Alimiyya and Ifta programs at Madrasah Arabia Islamia, Azaadville, South Africa. He then studied 'ulum al-hadith (hadith sciences) at Markaz al-Da'wah al-Islamiyyah, Dhaka. Mahdi also holds a BA in philosophy and Middle Eastern Studies from Columbia University. He currently teaches at Darul Uloom NY and serves as a chaplain at Pilgrim Hospital in Brentwood.
